Makerere University Assoc. Prof. Francis Xavier Ifee to voluntaliriy Join Uganda community Art skill Development and Recycling(UCASDR) as an advisor

 Assoc. Francis Xavier Ifee

Assoc. Prof. Francis Xavier Ifee is the Head of Department of Fine Art at the Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Arts – Makerere University, Kampala.
He has participated in international and national art exhibitions in several places such as: Italy, Vancouver, Cairo, Nairobi, Cologne and Leverkusen.
Ifee is a prolific landscape painter; he has aspects of finely developed intuition, artistic sensitivity, free handling of various pictorial methods and media (such as oils, acrylics, powders, and water colours) with profound and lyrical expression.

In his modest landscape subjects the artist exhibits lucid poetic visions and a consummate skill to render peculiar and fearful images into eloquent cool colour harmonies.

He believes that ‘Not all pictures in gold frames are masterpieces; among them are pictures with high and low values, different from one another as diamond differs from simsim paste.’

And he strongly asserts that, ‘A good work of art is like life itself; it does not need to be explained before it is enjoyed. No one has ever asked for the price of air, but air must simply be breathed.’
Currently he does a voluntary work as the Programme adviser for the Uganda Community Art Skill Development and Recycling based in Nansana and Kalerwe in  Kampala.
